Prior to becoming a Librarian, Kate Colquitt studied painting at the Ecole’ de Beaux Arts and Academie de Port-Royal in Paris, France and at the Art Students League of New York. Ms. Colquitt was awarded a full scholarship to Columbia University where she completed her masters degree and developed outreach programs as part of the Connecting Libraries and Schools Project of The New York Public Library. She continued to develop her career and has worked as a school librarian, children’s services librarian, teen services and outreach librarian. Recently, Kate has developed the creative aging program for the 55 and beyond population at the Greenburgh Public Library. She is very happy to combine her library skills and fine art training with the bounty of wonderful patrons who frequent the Greenburgh Library.
